A letter to the womb

May 25, 2011

Dearest baby of mine,

I was so anxious to see you this morning. I think I was mostly nervous...I'm not sure why. I think I just work myself up. You were so cooperative and well behaved for the ultrasound tech. It was once again absolutely breathtaking to see you. Your perfect little head and body, and THOSE LEGS! Holy cow my love. I'm not sure if they could get any longer. You have more than doubled in size since our last visit with you. You are now 1 lb 3 oz. I love every little piece of you.

We've had a fun few weeks together, you and me and your daddy. We got to go on a cruise with Uncle Matt and Aunt Kenzie. We had so much fun laughing at the silliest things and basking in the sun. We ate ourselves fat and caught up on sleep. It was so good to get away from our everyday routine and focus on just each other.

Aunt Heather graduated from high school. We are so proud of her. Her graduation ceremony was wonderful and then we had our favorite dinner at Grammy and Papa's house...Sardella's pizza and wings (thank you for choosing our favorite Aunt Heather!). It was so much fun playing with Aubrey and Kadence. They will be the best cousins and will love you so much. We got to attend Heather's seminary graduation too. She is a great role model for you. Uncle Adam was also recognized at the seminary graduation. He did not miss one day of seminary this whole year...that is definitely something I cannot say I did. Those mornings were so early! 4:30am and I do not get along :) But they were so worth it. I am really proud of Adam for this as I know how hard it is. He is also a wonderful example to you.

Aunt Melanie is engaged! We are so excited for her and Tate. July 7th will be a blast! We are also especially excited to visit with all of your aunts, uncles, and cousins who are coming into town. I cannot wait for you to meet them and be such good friends. I have so many memories of being with my cousins growing up and I want the same for you. Family relationships are the best ones you can have in your life...this I know for sure.

Your daddy built your dresser in your room. It's got all your little tiny shoes (all ten pairs:)) and your cute little man clothes in it. Grammy loves to buy you the cutest little outfits. I am very picky about how I want you to be dressed (call me silly, I know) and she is really good at finding clothes that fit what I want. You are already a very spoiled little boy. Now I just need to stop being so indecisive about what I want for the rest of your room so we can start getting it ready.

Work has been going well lately. We had a rough week at the beginning of May when seven of our little angels returned to heaven in one week. It is hard to not get down at times like this. But it is then that I am strengthened by my testimony of Heavenly Father's plan, how glorious and perfect it is. It makes me want to shout it from the rooftops. I am inspired and privileged to work with such incredible kids everyday. Their strength and perseverance through their suffering and pain reminds me each day to remember what is really important. Everyone at work is so excited to meet you. They love feeling you kick. You have 3 little friends at work who will be joining you within a month of when you are due. It is fun to talk with their mommies each day and compare pregnancy milestones.

You have been so active lately. I could hold still and watch and feel you move all day. I love watching your daddy feel you and talk to you. He cracks me up. You are so lucky to have him. He's already got so many ideas in store of things you and him are going to do. Most of them have to do with trying to make me laugh. I can't wait. You and I are so blessed he is ours. Your daddy and I are more in love than ever. I think about him constantly. He is so good to me. He works so hard for our family. He is an incredible man of honor and goodness. I love him more than words can describe. I give thanks for him everyday in my prayers.

The weather has been so beautiful lately but summer is upon us...which means you and I will be spending lots of time in the water and anywhere else it is cool. I can't wait!

I love you my little one.

Love forever,
Mom
